67 STORIES OVER 67 DAYS WRITTEN BY CHILDREN FOR CHILDREN

One of our initiatives for Nelson Mandela Day will start on Mandela day 18 July 2012 and will continue for 67 days (excluding weekends), we'll be asking the children at our various participating schools across Cape Town and Gauteng to write a childrens story, for children by children with illustrations. The 67 best stories will be chosen for publishing. Volunteer reading helpers will support the children with story creation during their volunteer sessions with the children at school. A further challenge will be put out to the Grade 6's and 7's (continuing the 67 theme) to write a 67 word short story. We believe this covers the 67 minutes very well and further extends with the overall campaign theme of "Make every day a Mandela day" as our campaign will continue for 67 days.
