Training day-workshops to equip individuals with the necessary skills to become volunteers. These sessions introduce various strategies for dealing with struggling children from various educational, economic and social backgrounds.
Refresher workshops throughout the year. These workshops allow continuous training of volunteers - the updating of training manuals, book exchanges and general knowledge sharing. They also cover such topics as conflict resolution management, HIV/AIDS and effective communication, thus empowering volunteers with essential life skills.
Facilitating community cohesion through newsletters, text messages, emails and, most importantly, through one-on-one guidance and encouragement from help2read staff Support Workers, who visit volunteers on a regular basis to ensure their needs are met.
A volunteer recognition event, where help2read thanks and awards volunteers for their invaluable contribution throughout the year.
Pupil evaluation assessments throughout the duration of the programme
Project maintenance and administration: the school will be serviced by help2read support staff who manage the relationship between help2read, the school administration and volunteers.
