Since August 2007, 62 primary schools joined the help2read programme. Providing volunteer reading helpers for all these new schools meant that help2read had to recruit, train and place more than 230 volunteers over the past year. The programme and interest in our activities continue to grow and another 120 volunteers are needed in 2008. With their long-term care and support an additional 400 struggling learners will increase their literacy results and truly begin to blossom. Well done to all the special people who are already giving generously of their time and without whom this would not be possible! !
