Help Us

Become a help2read volunteer

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic readers to help empower the next generation, sharing their love for books! If you think you might fit the bill, or you know someone else who might, please read on.
If you or your staff can read and write English and have an hour to spare each week, then be part of help2read’s programme and improve a child’s life forever! Enhance their life, their future children’s lives, and your life, with the legacy of literacy!

• Volunteers are interviewed, trained, and undergo criminal background checks to ensure the utmost level of child protection.
• Once interviewed, vetted, and trained, volunteers are assigned the child(ren) they will help2read. The children are given a box full of fabulous books and games to play with.
• Volunteers don’t replace good teaching, they add to it, by playing the role of literate adult in the child’s life with time and attention just for them!
If you love to read, you probably had a parent in that role when you were a child. Well, this is your chance to play that role and pass on your love of reading!

Offer your skills to help2read

We realise that not everyone has the time or the flexibility to be able to help as a volunteer. This does not mean that you can't help at all. We are a new charity, so we are constantly in need of all sorts of skills. If you think you may be able to help us by contributing your valuable skills please don't hesitate to call. We need as much help as we can get to offer help2read to all those that want it.

Donate books or games to help2read

Just about everyone has a bookshelf full of books that are rarely READ; books that were last opened decades ago. Please consider giving these books to under-priviledged kids who need help2read - we are looking for books suitable for children of all ages.
Every cent saved by not having to buy new books is an extra cent that can be spent helping children read.
